ArchivalResource

Powers and Eno family papers, 1839-1916.

The collection consists of personal letters of members of the Powers and Eno families from Pittsford and Charlotte, Vermont, respectively. Letters to and from members of the Goodyear and Wooster families are also in the collection. The most voluminous papers in the collection are those of Artemas C. Powers, a farmer. Many of the letters he received concern business matters. His legal papers (deed and summons), receipts, and accounts occupy several folders. The oldest letters are those written to Nellie Goodyear between 1839 and 1859 by her brother Daniel, and her sister Sarah, from Hinesburgh and Charlotte, Vermont. Most of the letters to Arthur L. Eno were written to him by family members in Charlotte, Vt.
